Amalia Chavez (Apalateque) 101, of Casa Grande, AZ died on October 29, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. Amalia was born September 26, 1915 in Tucson, AZ. To Geronima and Miguel Apalateque. Throughout her life she worked at Flo’s restaurant along with a local favorite, Ochoa’s. She also spent some time working in the area fields. Amalia lived the remainder of her life with her family. She had a passion for cooking and dancing and loved to help others. She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Rosalio Chavez; Daughter, Lupita Olivio; Son, Arturo Olivio; Brother, Antonio Apalateque; Sisters, Carmen Leon and Alicia Martinez. She is survived by her daughter Rosie Sanchez; 5 grandch

Luis Reyes Ronquillo

Luis Reyes Ronquillo, 61, of Casa Grande died on October 27, 2016 at John C. Lincoln Hospital with his family by his side. Luis was born on October 21, 1955 in Eloy and was raised in Eloy. He was a painter by trade for 25 years. He later began landscaping with his father. He enjoyed shooting pool, watching football on Sundays with his grandsons and taking long walks with his great-grandson. He will be missed. Survivors include his son, Michael Luis Ronquillo of Casa Grande; A daughter, April Cisneros Ronquillo of Glendale. Two grandsons, Xavier Ronquillo and Alezar Ronquillo; and two great-grandsons, Sebastian Madrid and Zane Ronquillo.

Beatriz Valenzuela Parra

Beatriz Valenzuela Parra, 78, of Casa Grande died at home on Oct. 22, 2016 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Parra was born in Pitiquito, Sonora, Mexico and was a daughter of Beatriz Lizarraga Coronado and Jesus Valenzuela Salazar. She came to Arizona in 1988 and loved cooking, being a homemaker and taking care of her kids and grandkids. She also loved to garden and enjoyed traveling to Mexico to visit family. Survivors include her husband, Walter; six daughters, Bernice Parra Torres, Yecenia Parra Cade, Nadia Belinda Parra Cañeda, Amalia Wendy Parra, Karen Parra and Zenia Zeet Parra; two sons, Walter N. Parra Jr. and Francisco A. Parra; a sister, Diega Valenzuela Lizarraga; two brothers, Jose

David William Simmer

David William Simmer, 61, of Casa Grande died on Oct. 18, 2016. Mr. Simmer was born on Jan. 25, 1955. David will be loved and greatly missed, A memorial service will be at a later date in Wisconsin. David was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and his step-mother. Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Brefczynski of Wisconsin; a sister, Sharon Brook of Tucson; five stepbrothers and -sisters, Richard, Eric and Mary Greenwold, Susan Foreman and Carol Greenwold; and three grandchildren.

Michael Dodson

Michael Dodson, 67, of Casa Grande died on Oct. 14, 2016 in Casa Grande. Michael was born on Sept 1, 1949 in Nashville, TN to Margola and Lawrence Dodson. He graduated from Central Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He worked for Able Steel Fabricators in Mesa, AZ. Michael was married to his best friend Jane Dodson for 22 years. He enjoyed reading books, bowling, SiFi movies, computer games, going to the casino and watching t.v. while holding his wife's hand. Survivors include his 3 step-children; Kathleen Martin of Conover, WI., Susan (Vince) Marflak of Chandler, AZ., and Jean Walter of Oshkosh, WI. Michael also had 3 grandchildren. Edith Zimmermann

Edith Zimmermann (85) , of Casa Grande, AZ passed away on October 10, 2016 in Casa Grande. Edie enjoyed playing cards, bingo, cooking, crocheting, tatting and traveling with her husband of 42 years, Rich. She loved to swim and care for her pets and surrounding wildlife. She made friends easily and was admired by those around for her smile and quick wit. She is survived by her stepsons, Randy and Jim Zimmermann: and 3 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lou and Henry; her husband Richard; Sister, Mary; Brothers; Lee Elmer and David. A private memorial may be organized at a later time at Fort Snelling Nation Cemetery in St. Paul, MN.

Gloria Jane Estey

Gloria Jane Estey passed away October 1, 2016 in Casa Grande, AZ. She was born September 18, 1945 in Marysville, NB and was the daughter of the late Clair and Arthureain (Pyne) Estey. Gloria is predeceased in death by her husband of many years, whom she dearly loved, Duane Lambert of Houlton, ME.
