Arizona City - Gregorio "Gregory" Cuevas, 75, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 15, 2017. Gregorio was born on December 23, 1941 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, the son of Ramon Cuevas and Emilia Davila-Cuevas and moved to Youngstown, OH in 1953. He spent most of his years on the East Side of Youngstown, OH.
He was a good husband, loving father and a very generous man. Gregory retired from Columbia Iron & Metal. Once retired, he found ways to pass his time in the day and night. He became an avid fisherman and gardener. He would always share the fish he caught with family, friends and neighbors. He enjoyed helping neighbors start their gardens in the spring time. Gregorio loved making things with his hands. In his spare time he made toys and would pass them out to the neighborhood kids and it made him so happy to see the children enjoying the toys he made them. He discovered a knack for metal jewelry making. He would make the jewelry for family and friends and would gift it to them. This gave him so much pleasure to see how happy he could make the people he cared about. In the evening he enjoyed going to Bingo with his wife and playing cards and dominoes with family and friends.
On June 5, 1967 he married the love of his life, Nancy Mohr-Cuevas. They were married for nearly 34 years, until she passed in April 2001. After his wife's passing, he moved in with his daughter, Michelle and her family. In 2007, they all moved to Arizona. In Arizona, Gregory enjoyed going to Bingo with his daughter and grand-daughters.
