Evelyn Davis
Evelyn Ann Davis, 90, died peacefully on Sept. 6, 2016, at Olive Branch Assisted Living Home in Casa Grande, with her sister and brother-in-law by her side.
Ms. Davis was born on Jan. 30, 1926, in Minneapolis and was a daughter of Benjamin and Rosalie Davis. She was one of the first meter maids in Minneapolis and then went to work in the property and evidence division of the Police Department, where she retired in 1989.
She moved to Casa Grande in 1997 and promptly started to volunteer for the Casa Grande Police Department, where she was named Volunteer of the Month. She also worked at the Subway restaurant on Florence Boulevard and retired from Wal-Mart after eight years. A very diligent worker who was always willing to help people, she had a great sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Davis, and is survived by a brother, Donald J. Davis of Minneapolis, and a sister, MaryAnn Jacobwith of Casa Grande.
A celebration of life will be held at Fairways manufactured home park at noon on Oct. 29.
