Brian Doherty (Retired U.S. Marine Corp)

Brian retired from the United States Marine Corp with honors in April of 1974. He was a Marine to the end. Semper Fidelis, Always faithful, he went on 3 tours of Vietnam and would have served more if he could. He was awarded many honors including the Bronze Star V for acts of combat heroism. Also Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense, Vietnam Civil Action, Presidential Unit Citation, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Navy Commendation with V Marine Corp Good Conduct, 18 years Vietnam Sue Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Brian loved Frank Sinatra and he always said that like Frank "I did it my way."
Well done Marine.
Brian was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Patrick Doherty.
He is survived by, his wife of 31 years, Lee Doherty; a daughter, Karen Patricia Reeves of Boston; a son, Michael William Doherty of Tucson; a step-daughter, Elena Catherine Little of Apache Junction; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
A memorial service is to be held at 1:30p.m. Dec. 2, 2016 in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona
