John W. "Bill" Downing

John W. "Bill" Downing, 77, died Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Banner Health Medical Center in Casa Grande.

He leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Janie Downing; His sons Doug Downing (Suzanne), Dave Downing, Tony Downing and Brad Downing; His daughter Maya Downing; His brother James Downing; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and many friends.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Hoadly and Margaret Downing and a daughter Brenda Lehan.

After moving to California from Ohio, Bill was employed by Hush Puppies Footwear in Los Angeles, where he met his wife Janie. They were married in 1989 at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas. Then in 1996, he moved to Arizona with his wife and youngest child where he began a career at the local Albertsons', where he retired from in 2007; but he found a true passion as a real estate appraiser until the day he passed; Bill could never truly retire.

Besides being a loving husband and father, he enjoyed watching his beloved Arizona Cardinals, through the good and bad seasons and was an avid video poker enthusiast.
