Daniel Joseph Johnston Sr. "Dan"

On Sunday, July 19, 2020, Daniel Joseph Johnston Sr. "Dan", husband and father of four children passed away at the age of 81.

Dan was born November 7, 1938 in East St. Louis, IL to Barney Johnston and Mary (Markezich) Johnston. Brothers Barney Johnston Jr., James Johnston and Richard Johnston.

Dan lived his life in Baldwin Park, CA or Reno, NV and the last two years in Casa Grande, AZ close to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Dan was an Army Veteran who enjoyed fishing, hunting, gaming, sports, playing pool and especially spending time with his great grandchildren. He could be seen at the local Senior Center in Casa Grande hanging out with friends, playing cards, and pool. He also enjoyed going to the movies and spending time with his children. He was known for his quick wit and always had a way of making everyone laugh.

Dan is preceded in death by his father, mother and brother Barney Johnston Jr.. He is survived by his wife Sally; four children Daniel Johnston Jr., Jessica Vasquez, Jeffery Johnston, and Bernadine Saldana; 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Passion Church on Casa Grande Ave. and Kortsen Rd. at 1:00 pm.
