Barbara Jean Grandy Cortright

Barbara Jean Grandy Cortright, 94, of Casa Grande died on Dec. 17, 2022, at Lita Caring Home.

Mrs. Cortright was born on Dec. 29, 1927. She was an artist, writer, world traveler and multilinguist. She earned a Ph.D. in art history and raised four children.

She wrote several novels and published numerous articles of art criticism. She had many friends, and her family said she allowed a "motley crew of artists to crash on her living room couch when they were between paychecks."

Survivors include three sons, Lewis S. Cortright Sr., Clyde K. and Eric A. Cortright; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lem R., and three sisters, Dorothy Reinert, Phyllis Dumas and Ruth Brown.

No service. Burial later in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, in Phoenix.
