January 24, 1949 - September 28, 2026

David Clayton Pierce, 77, passed away September 28, 2026 at home in Eloy. He was born January 24, 1949.

Dave was a honest and hard working man who enjoyed his beer with ice and tomato juice after work. He enjoyed "plinking" target shooting at the empty cans. What he hated most about his arthritis is not being able to lift the 45 he cherished. So he purchased a replica air soft revolver and made a simple target range out the back door. He enjoyed sitting in the early morning sun and practicing his craft.

He was a handsome man of 6'2" with brown hair and deep blue eyes and a wonderful smile. The photo shared was taken just before he left for Vietnam. The war was hard for him and the homecoming was a nightmare. He was a quiet man who did not speak much about the troubles he endured. He would keep himself away from crowds and enjoyed living on our 10 acres of desert with no neighbors.

He enjoyed being able to go outside and shoot anytime in a safe direction of course... Until one day a new person who lived 20 acres away came over carrying his 410 shotgun and warned David how he should not be doing this due to people moving in the area. David bit his tongue and slowed down his target practice. He just shot on the other side of the house so it muffled the sound. The neighbor's name from then on was 4-10.

Now David will be buried alongside his mother and father on the property where he happily lived and raised his family for 43 years. David you will be missed.

David is survived by his wife D. Pierce; children Lavonna Price, David Joseph Clayton Pierce, Quentin Pierce, Ruth Pierce, Connie Pierce, Travis Pierce, Joshua Pierce, Magen Haynes, Rachell Pierce, and Zoe Pierce; sister Linda Maclin of Ohio; 28 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Georgia and Clayton Pierce of Tennessee and his brother Michael Wane Pierce of Ohio.
