Gary Louis Salyer age 81, of Casa Grande, Arizona passed away peacefully at home on May 26, 2026.
Gary was born on April 17, 1945, in Santa Barbara, California, to Roberta LaVonne Narramore and Orbie Rufus Salyer. He grew up with a strong sense of duty, honor, and service that guided him through his life.
Gary proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he continued his commitment to serving others through a distinguished career with the Casa Grande Police Department, where he worked faithfully until his retirement.
Gary was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Carol Salyer for 32 years. He was also a loving bonus father to John Kee and Shannon Orozco. He cherished his family and leaves behind his grandchildren Alyssa Orozco, Felicity Orozco, Ariel Bayles, Alysahn Urias, and Arianna Rosales, as well as two great grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy and pride.
Those who knew Gary will remember him as a truly wonderful man whose kindness, strength, integrity, and generosity touched many lives. He is respected by his colleagues, loved by his family, and valued by his friends. His steady presence, warm heart, patience, and willingness to help other left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Gary waqs preceded in death by his parents and a sister. He leaves behind his loving wife, Carol Salyer, his bonus children, his grandchildren, and his great grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Gary's life was defined by service, dedication, and love. His legacy will live through the many lives he touched and he will be remembered always with gratitude, respect, and affection.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
