Richard Jorgenson

October 26, 1937 - March 20, 2024





Richard “Dick” Edward Jorgenson age 86 passed away Wednesday, March 20th at

home surrounded by his family.

Dick was born on October 26, 1937, in Wilson Township, St Croix County,

Wisconsin to Peter and Freida Jorgenson. He spent his childhood in Spring Valley

WI where he worked on the family farm and graduated from Spring Valley High

School in 1956. During this time, he also worked at Cady Cheese Factory and the

Grainery.

In April 1957 he married Shirley Schaar and in 1958 they moved to

Coolidge, AZ. He worked various jobs when he first came to Arizona which

included the Blakely Stations, delivering pop for Emery Snyder and laying block for

Wade Betcher until he met Jewel and Joel England and became the Foreman at

England Ranches in 1963 and remained there for 10 years. He joined the Pinal

County Sherriff’s Posse in 1964 and in 1973 he moved his family to Coolidge and

worked for Central Machinery for the next 41 years.

After retirement he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Arizona Diamondbacks

and Phoenix Suns and family gatherings on his porch. But his most recent passion

was helping the DAV Chapter 36 sell raffle tickets for their fund raisers. He sold so

many tickets he was made an “Honorary Member”.

Dick was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brother (Lee).

He is survived by his son Tom (Debbie) Jorgenson, Daughter Pam (Mike) Wood, 5 grandchildren,

11 Great Grandchildren, 17 Great Great Grandchildren, several nieces and

nephews and two sisters (Georgia Mae and Darlene)


A private Burial for family will be held Saturday, April 20th , 9am at Valley Memorial

Park Cemetery in Coolidge. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held

Saturday, April 20th , 11:30am – 2:30pm at the Coolidge Artisan Center (enter from

Northern Street).
