Robert Perez Martinez Sr. "Doobie"

Robert Perez Martinez, Sr. passed away September 10, 2023 in Casa Grande. He was 87. He was born in Three Rivers, Texas to Aurora P. and Simon Martinez.

Robert worked many places for Noranda and Hecla Mines, he did cement work and he also worked for Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. He retired from Tee Pee Contractors in Casa Grande. He taught himself to play the accordion and played in Norteno Cinco and performed all over Arizona. He was also his own producer Cumbia De Doobie Doo. He was a fan of the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Dallas Cowboys.

Doobie is survived by his only child Robert Martinez, Jr (Olga); sisters Valentina Gonzales, Ninpha Roberts, Mari Garza. and Anita Pena; brother Simon Martinez (Connie); 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Flora Martinez; Parents Aurora and Simon Martinez; brother Rolando Martinez and step siblings Solomon and Willie Ramos.

Services will be at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Casa Grande on September 26, 2023. Viewing is at 8:30 am and Mass is at 9:00 am.
