April 26, 1933 - July 20, 2025

Theodore Jacob Wiens, 92, earned his angel wings and landed on the streets of gold in heaven. God called him home, Sunday morning July 20, 2025.
Ted was born on April 26, 1933; one of six children raised in Lustre, Montana. He attended Lustre Christian Academy where he met Stella (Peters) Wiens and married her in 1954. He built their home of 50+ years on Cherry Creek in Glasgow, Montana. They had six children Sonya (Wiens) Martin with late husband Karl of Minnesota, Stuart Wiens with wife Susan of Colorado, Chris Wiens with wife Belinda of Arizona, Tammy (Wiens) Taylor with late-husband Keith of Minnesota, Mitch Wiens with wife Debbie of Colorado, and Shelly (Wiens) Ozuna with husband Kevin of Arizona. They grew up in that home on Cherry Creek, where many fond memories were made and will always be cherished.
Ted was a man of many talents over the years, farming, ranching, building, carpentry, working on the Fort Peck Powerhouses, and custom built homes to perfection but always had a deep passion and love for aviation. He became a pilot at 22 and bought his first airplane a Super Cruiser Cub in 1955. Later on (1972), he got his Piper Super Cub for recreation, farming, and began crop dusting for himself as well as other farmers in and outside of the community. He continued on with his hobby and nine years later bought a Beechcraft Bonanza airplane. Ted and Stella moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1985, returning to Glasgow, Montana in 1992 and every summer thereafter as snowbirds. Ted boated and fished at Fort Peck Lake and enjoyed his Montana summers to the fullest. He bought his final airplane, a Piper Super Cub, in 1989 and continued to enjoy his love of flying. In 2010 they sold their beautiful home and moved permanently to Casa Grande, Arizona. He had retired from flying but took up building and flying many remote controlled model airplanes, woodworking, and gardening. He also enjoyed his morning walks and bike rides. Most recently Ted and Stella had moved to Queen Creek, Arizona in 2024 to be closer to family and celebrated 71 years of marriage in June. Ted lived a great life with a fierce love for his family. He had a heart of gold and was a dedicated, hard-working, kind, thoughtful, caring, and selfless man. A wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His legacy includes 14 grandchildren and 13 great -grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by his family, extended relatives, loved ones, and friends.
Ted is preceded in death by his parents Peter and Maria (Wall) Wiens, his two sons Stuart Wiens and Chris Wiens and his sister Elizabeth (Wiens) Peters.
