November 11, 1946 - December 19, 2020

On Saturday, December 19, 2020, William Allen Filby passed away unexpectedly at the age of 74 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on November 11th, 1946 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Bill was a proud Naval Veteran. He married the love of his life, Priscilla, on August 23, 1969, and enjoyed 51 years of marriage with her, raising two sons in their Stanwood, Michigan home on the Muskegon River. Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, boating, woodworking, riding his Harley, and caring for the Koi fish in the beautiful ponds he had built into their backyard landscaping.

After retirement, Bill and Cris became full-time RV’ers and traveled across the country together. They spent winters in Arizona with family and friends. Most days were spent jeeping, playing pickleball, bike riding, and enjoying happy hours with friends while watching the beautiful desert sunsets.

Though he could be on the quieter side, those that knew him got to experience his great sense of humor and funny jokes. He was a kind and loving man, and whenever he was ending a phone call or leaving after a visit, his final words were always “See ya, Love ya, Bye”.

Bill’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by his loving wife Priscilla Collene Filby, sons Michael (Brenda) and Daniel (Elizabeth), 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren; sisters Marjorie Waite, Janet Lengar (Don), and Susie Filby-Clark (Leland).
