Joe G. Fosdick

Joe G. Fosdick, 63, of Maricopa passed away September 20, 2017.

He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany R. Pippin; his son, Joe G. Fosdick Jr.; grandchildren, Brittany N. Pippin, Ashley L. Pippin, Sierra R. Pippin, Jessica A. Pippin and Marcus Pippin Jr.; great-grandchildren Isabella F. Pippin, Katherine G. Pippin and Aiden M. Ballew; 11 brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe joined the United States Army in 1971. He was so proud to be part of the military, following a very long line of family members that served equally as proud, going as far back as the Civil War. He spoke fondly of his time in the Army, telling stories of his experiences and how he wished he could have stayed enlisted longer.

He had an adventurous spirit and loved traveling all over the United States. He loved camping, fishing and pretty much anything and everything to do with the outdoors. One of his favorite places to be was in the woods near a body of water.

Joe had many friends and was always willing to help a friend in need. If you needed help, he was there to do what he could. His friends knew they could count on him, no matter the circumstances.

Joe was a very hard working man his whole life. Born in Oswego, NY, he helped out on the family farm. One of 14 children, only two preceded him in death. Most of his family, including his daughter, will say he was a very stubborn man, believed what he believed no matter what anyone said, felt or thought about it, and lived life as he wished.

Joe had a soft spot in his heart for animals. His faithful companion of over a decade, Chiquita, was by his side to the very end. He refused to go through life without a dog, saying dogs are the most loyal and dependable creatures on the face of the Earth. He often said, “How is life even possible without a dog as a companion?”

Services will be held in November. If you wish to attend to honor and celebrate the life of Joe Fosdick, please contact his daughter Tiffany at

He will be loved and missed by so many, but no one more than his daughter.
