Ron "Handlebar" Pickering

Ron Pickering, 70, of Casa Grande, AZ. passed away on March 30, 2017 in Tucson. Born in Port Huron, MI on May 6, 1946, Ron graduated from Marysville High School in 1964. He was drafted in December of 1965 to the United States Army. Ron completed his basic training and advanced infantry at Fort Riley, KS. There he received his sharpshooter badge and volunteered fro the U.S. Navy diving school in San Diego. In 1966 Ron graduated from diving school and was one of 38 divers in the U.S. Army known as Frogmen. In February of 1967 he was sent to Vietnam and did underwater construction demolition and recovery missions. In November of 1967 he was discharged from the Army at the rank of Specialist E-4

Michael Sova "Mr. Smiley"

Casa Grande, AZ - Michael Sova, 18, of Casa Grande passed away March 5, 2017. Michael was born in Sierra Vista and graduated from Vista Grande High School where his teacher nicknamed him "Mr. Smiley." Michael had severe cerebral palsy but his job was to always make people smile. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joann and Laverne Sova; Brothers, Mark and David Sova. Survivors include his sisters, Toni, Elizabeth (Beth), Kimi and Elizabeth (Liz); Brothers, John, Paul and Nicolas.
