William (Bill) Tatum


William (Bill) Tatum, 86, passed away on Jul 28, 2017 at Banner Hospital in Casa Grande, AZ.

Bill attended high school in Lancaster, CA. before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He served from 1948 till 1952. His last duty station was aboard the U.S. Princeton CV37. He attended San Jose City College, receiving his degree in merchandising and was a salesman in the welding supply field until 1966. He hired on at Lockheed Missile and Space Company working at the Sunnyvale plant until 1975. He transferred to the U.S. Naval Submarine Base in Washington State until his retirement in 1990.

He and his wife traveled all the western states, playing gold and making friends. They settled down in Casa Grande in 1997 and made it their permanent home in 2003. After Bill's stroke in 2010, he was unable to play his beloved game of golf.

He will be missed by his wife, Luanne of 56 years, his son and daughter, as well as other family members and friends. He was a great husband, dad, granddad and friend.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Claude Sylvester Tatum and Genevieve Maynard Beauchene; Sisters, Barbara Hyatt and Charlotte Fernandez; Brother, Tom Tatum; Granddaughter, Jenelle Weythman.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Luanne Tatum; Daughter, Susan (John) Weythman of Casa Grande, AZ.; Son, Michael Tatum of Bremerton, WA.; Sister, Jaye Elaine (Rob) Harris of Kirland, New Mexico.; Brother, Charles Tatum of Imperial Beach, CA. and 4 grandchildren.
