Karen Elizabeth Simmers

Karen Elizabeth Simmers (Jogeese); passed away on Saturday September 1, 2018 at her home in Casa Grande. She was born October 16, 1947 in Passaic, N.J., to parents Benedict "Vic" and Bernadette "Dette" Jogeese. She and her sisters grew up in New Jersey. In the late 60's. she followed her older sister, Carole, moving to Ohio, where she soon met her late husband Bill and they raised their three children in Claridon, OH. She worked for a nursery in the summer months; where she loved gardening and working with outdoor plants and flowers. Later, she worked for GTE/Verizon in Marion, OH. After her husbands passing; she moved and resided in Casa Grande for the past 20 years. Karen truly lived the life through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family and spending time with her pets.

Karen will be dearly missed by daughters: Angie Hatfield (Chris) of Delaware, OH and Barb Fisher of Medina, OH; Son, Bill Simmers of Marion, OH; grandchildren Kailee Stone (Mike), John Dowell, Greg, Devon, Brandon and Luke Fisher and Paige Simmers; great-grandson, Braylon Stone and blessed with another great-grandson expected in January 2019; her sister Carole Cottom of Punta Gorda, FL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is proceeded in death by her husband of 30 years William "Bill" Simmers; her parents Benedict "Vic" and Bernadette "Dette" Jogeese; her sisters; Sr. Gail Jogeese and Jean Richardson and grandson Derrick M. Fisher.

There will be a funeral at a later date in Ohio. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Karen's name to Snyder Funeral Homes of Marion OH.
