Christopher George Heidel
February 14, 1972 - December 20, 2024

Christopher George Heidel, Chris, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of Friday, December 20, 2024, in Coolidge, Arizona. He was born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1972, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to George Edward and Pam K. Heidel who'd thought their family was complete. Chris was affectionately called his mother’s “surprise valentine,” a reflection of the joy he brought to their family.
Chris grew up as the youngest sibling to his brother Denny and sister Dina. Chris shared a profound bond with his parents, cherishing his mother and mirroring his father in many ways.
In the autumn of 1989, Chris met Tonya, the love of his life and soulmate. Their relationship began through Chris’s persistent determination into a love story of their unbreakable bond that spanned over three decades. They began dating on June 12, 1991,and despite physical distance when Tonya moved to New Mexico later that year, their connection endured. By 1993 they had built a life together and were married on April 15, 1995. Over their 33 years together, they remained each other’s steadfast anchor through life’s joys and challenges, as each other’s greatest support & weakness.
Chris found immense pride and purpose as a devoted father to Heidi Jane Heidel and Alexander Christopher Heidel.
His daughter Heidi resides in Coolidge with her husband of two years, Riley Heidel—a union that brought Chris great pride as Riley embraced the family name.
His son Xander serves as a firefighter/paramedic in Idaho and recently became engaged to Mariah Perry the night before Chris’s passing—a moment that filled him with overwhelming happiness
Family was everything to Chris; He dreamed of spoiling grandkids and eagerly awaited Xander’s wedding. Though the loss of his parents—George in November 2022 and Pam in February 2023—left an indelible mark on Chris’s heart, he carried their love forward with strength.
