Doris M. "Cookie" Leija

October 9, 1949 - August 19, 2022

Doris M. "Cookie" Leija passed away on August 19, 2022 in Chandler. She was 72. Cookie was born in Modesto, CA. She worked as a caregiver for 20+ years. She enjoyed going to the beach, getting her hair and nails done, her grand daughter's softball games, movies and shopping. Her Faith was her life. She loved her kids and grandkids and spending time with them.

She is survived by her children Daniel Leija (Stacey), Renee Simmons, and Alex Leija; her sister Anita Zarate; grandchildren AJ Ramos, KG Leija, Leonidos Leija, and Austin Leija and great grandchildren Aaliyah Ramos and Anatasia Ramos.

She is preceded in death by her husband Daniel Leija, Sr. and her granddaughter Dani A. Leija.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Fountains of Living Water Church on September 3, 2022 at 4:00 pm. Pastor Eliu Ibarra presiding.
