Marcelo C. Hernandez passed away October 13, 2025 in Casa Grande. He was 84. He was born January 16, 1941 in Mason, Texas to Pedro and Miceala Hernandez. He grew up in Texas, finally settling in Arizona by 1971 with his wife Antonia and their family.
Marcelo was assistant manager for Arizona Grains before starting his own business, Hernandez Harvesting in the 70's and 80's. He also harvested barley for Coors in Colorado and hauled potatoes for Napi Farms in New Mexico. He was featured in an Arizona Magazine about his knowledge and innovation with combines. He was a very hard worker.
Marcelo was an avid pool player and golfer. He loved to be outside in the country. He liked to spend time with his friends, family and grandkids.

Marcelo is survived by children George Contreas, Eddie Contreas, Mario Contreas, Jerry Contreas, Martina Hernandez, and Juan Hernandez; Vivian Hernandez Serratoz and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Antonia Hernandez; parents Pedro and Miceala Hernandez; siblings Encarnacion C. Hernandez and Candelaria H. Luna; grandson Nicolaus Hernandez and nephew Dennis Rodriguez.
Services will be October 24, 2025 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Casa Grande. 10:am Viewing, 10:30 Rosary, 11:00 am Mass.
