George L. Shipman, Sr. passed away December 21, 2025 at the VA Hospital in Tucson. He was 85.
Charles was a 30 year Navy Veteran and retired as Master Chief Petty Officer-serving last with Commander, U.S. Naval Forces, Subic Bay, Republic of the Philippines, as the Master Chief of Command. He was awarded many awards and citations, but most notably the RVN Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation from his time in Vietnam.
After retiring from the Navy he spent 35 years in Everett, Washington, where he was part of the Glacier Lanes Bowling family and worked many years with them. He has left behind many friends and extended family in the Pacific Northwest.
He moved to Casa Grande, Arizona at the end of June 2023, to be closer to family and where he and his wife Had made many friends. George loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, traveling and loved watching sports on TV. His favorite teams were the Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks.
George is survived by his spouse Leonora O. Shipman; children George L. Shipman, Jr., Annabelle M. Morgott, Janine M. Ferguson, Charles W. Shipman, Sr.; Sibling Margaret Shipman; 9 grandchildren and 16 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Geraldine Shipman and Henry Shipman; brothers Roy Shipman and James Shipman
Services will be at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, February 13, 2026 at 9:00 am.
