Maria Asención Quevedo Rijos

Maria Asención Quevedo Rijos, a woman of immense strength, devotion, and joy, passed away peacefully at home on October 23, 2026, at the age of 77.

Born in Sinaloa, Mexico, on October 29, 1948, Maria was defined by her fierce love for her family and hardworking spirit. In 1986, she made the courageous journey to emigrate to the United States, dedicating to creating a better life and successfully bringing her entire family together in Arizona. It was there that she met and married her beloved husband, Vincente Ortiz Rijos, with whom she shared a beautiful life until his passing in 2023.

Maris was the true heart of her family. She was a woman who radiated warmth, friendliness, and positivity wherever she went. Known for her joyful nature, she loved to sing, laugh, and above all, cherish every moment spent surrounded by her family.

She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Vincente Ortiz Rijos.

Her legacy of strength and unconditional love lives on through her family. She is survived by her son Clemente Lara; her three daughters Maria Ramona Sánchez, Victoria Juárez, and Elvira Santos; her 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, all of whom she adored deeply.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026 from 9-11 am at J Warren Funeral Chapel in Eloy, AZ. Burial immediately following at Eloy Memorial Park Cemetery to be laid to rest.
